After working as an intern for the 2009 harvest, Charlie was asked to stay on as a permanent member of the cellar team.
He has a degree in Chemistry from Randolph-Macon College (Ashland, VA). After spending 6 years in the pharmaceutical industry, he decided to take a shot at making wine and started with harvests in the Willamette Valley (2008) and Central Otago, New Zealand (2009). He believes that Adelsheim is a great place to become thoroughly educated in all things Pinot.
