ADELSHEIM EXPLORATION TASTING

Enjoy a curated, 1 hour wine experience.

The Adelsheim Exploration Tasting is a nod to the curious spirit upon which Adelsheim Vineyard was founded over 53 years ago! Since the very beginning, and as one of the founding families of the Oregon wine industry, we remain driven by the pursuit of world-class winemaking here in this {still} undiscovered wine region that we call home: The Chehalem Mountains.

This flight celebrates our legacy through a guided tasting showcasing the Chehalem Mountains AVA*, which includes 173 acres of prime vineyard plantings.

Explore with us:

  • Blends from our home here the Chehalem Mountains

  • Single vineyard designates

  • Small production bottlings from our grower-partner vineyards

This is the ultimate introduction to Adelsheim today, proudly evolved over 53 years of winegrowing.

$40 per guest, waived with a $110 bottle purchase.

Club Perk: Complimentary Adelsheim Tastings for up to 4 people, each visit.

*AVA stands for American Viticultural Area

Calkins Lane Vineyard: Hike in The Vines ($85)

Have you ever wanted to trek through the picturesque beauty of an Oregon vineyard? This is a unique opportunity to do so at the historic Adelsheim Vineyard.

Join us on a hike at one of our prime vineyard sites- Calkins Lane. This is our home vineyard, adjacent to our winery operations here in the Chehalem Mountains, situated at 240-320 feet in elevation. The rich marine sedimentary soils provide an ideal place to grow world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Experience Calkins Lane Vineyard firsthand on this insightful 2-hour guided experience while you walk amongst the vines dating back to 1990. This special site is home to Jack’s Garden, perched on the hillside and pond, which provides refuge to native flora and fauna. Learn about our viticulture practices from a seasoned wine educator while enjoying wines that reveal a sense of place; the Adelsheim Exploration Tasting is included with your experience—the finale: a burrata salad in the garden.

And, naturally, you'll have plenty of chances to snag those social media-worthy photos!

To make the most of your experience, we kindly request:

  • Arrive 15 minutes before your reservation.

  • Wear appropriate closed-toe, outdoor footwear that will provide stability on uneven ground.

  • Dress for our beloved Oregon weather! This hike is conducted in all conditions, rain or shine.

Behind the Scenes at Adelsheim: Winery Tour ($95)

The allure of a wine cellar is real. Part art, part science, and all parts fascinating. Now is your chance to go behind the scenes at Adelsheim.

Ours is a working winery with a lot of action during grape harvest and select times throughout the year. This seasonal tour takes advantage of the slower pace in production when we can open our doors for you.

The “BTS” Winery Tour will take you from grape to glass in our gravity-flow winery, allowing you to see areas typically off limits such as: grape receiving, tanks, barrel rooms, presses, and Chardonnay caves. Our aim is to demystify the winemaking process. You will learn about racking, punch-downs versus puncheons, and so much more!

A seasoned Wine Educator will lead you on this experience, fielding questions and sharing the Adelsheim winemaking ethos and origin story—dating back to 1971. Over the course of 53 years, we have evolved into a nationally recognized brand sharing the beauty of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley near and far. See where our artistry takes shape alongside our scientific know-how.

No tour at Adelsheim would be complete without the star of the show: our artisan wines. At various points along the way, you will enjoy the noteworthy wines of the Soil-Site-Vintage Tasting. The “SSV” is an elevated tasting that typically includes Sparkling wine, Chardonnay, and Single Vineyard Pinot Noirs. Your winemaking adventure concludes with a locally inspired charcuterie board.

To make the most of your experience, we kindly request:

  • Arrive 15 minutes before your reservation.

  • Wear appropriate closed-toe footwear that will provide stability on uneven surfaces and stairs.

A CLOSER LOOK:
With an array of vineyard plantings at diverse elevations and a storied legacy over a half century in the making, this is an opportunity to savor limited, small production wines. This creative flight is aptly named to reflect fascinating factors that impact winegrowing. Your tasting may include an examination of:

SITE | Consider location and elevation of a vineyard. A vintage comparison or vertical could be included.

SOIL | Consider the diverse soil compositions such as volcanic, marine sedimentary, and loess. While our home is the Chehalem Mountains AVA in the larger Willamette Valley, that also includes the nested AVAs of Laurelwood District and Ribbon Ridge.

VINTAGE | Consider the age of the wine, whether it’s a library wine or a wine with a few years of age.

We invite you to discover more about Adelsheim through our Site-Soil-Vintage Tasting.
